Custom Drapery Panels

When it comes to drapery panels, there is no shortage of options. From the different fabrics to choose from to the different rods, there are many choices. Whether you are looking for a ring top, a French pleat, a rod pocket or a grommet drapery panel, matched with one of the many fabric styles which include sheers, floral, stripes harlequin and more, you’ve got a unique look.

The rods for drapery can be just as varied as the drapery itself. With options that include wood, metal, art deco, wrought iron and more you’ll be able to combine the perfect rod with the perfect draperies to make the perfect window coverings for your home. But as you look for draperies, look for drapery made in the US to help support our economy.

Draperies are designed with the fullness built into it. This not only adds an attractive look to it but also makes measuring more convenient. To measure for your drapery, all you need to do is measure the area that needs to be covered. The fullness of draperies is approximately double the size of each panel.

Most sets of drapery do not include the rods as part of the package nor do they include the liner. You usually have the option to upgrade your package to include liners. Drapery liners offer many benefits depending on the kind you have. Some are designed to allow some sunlight in while still providing privacy for the room. Others are designed to completely block out the light, these are called blackout liners. These blackout curtains can also offer noise reduction and increased energy savings.

The design of drapery panels allows the drapery rods to fit perfectly. Depending on what your preferences are you can choose from many different finishes and styles of rods. Some drapery has additional fabric that creates a continuous and flowing look; this can be complimented by the right rod. Other drapery options make use of rings that can be pinned or sewed onto the drapery. The rod pocket drapery is designed to have the rod inserted through the top of it, therefore rings are not needed.

Many people choose the ring top style of drapery panels. For ring top styles there are two options; first, there is a style that features clips on drapery rings. The rings are attached to the top with the curtains using a special clip. Second, there is a style where the rings are sewn onto the top of the curtains and the rod is slipped through the rings. Every drapery panel comes with a sufficient number of rings.

Many people find the French pleat to be a classy look. French pleat panels are made by cinching the top part of the curtain together. Drapery clips are attached to the back side of the panels using a pin. With these clips, the drapery is hung. Metal grommet panels are a popular choice also. These are made with round metal grommets and the rod is fed through these to mount.

At one time many of the businesses that sell draperies once exclusively sold blinds. Many of the businesses added draperies to make it more convenient for customers to enjoy one stop shopping. Once you see the beauty of custom drapery, you many want to buy out the store!
